How is this game scored?
This game is scored by the percentage of fluctuation or volatility a stock has relative to its price. A lower-priced stock might fluctuate more, while a higher-priced stock may move less but carry different risk on the leaderboard. Yes — you can go into negative points if you make incorrect predictions.
Example
You pick AAPL up. Previous close $200, day close $206 → +3% move → you score +3.00.
Same pick but day close $194 → −3% move (wrong direction) → you score −3.00.

What is Stockle?
Stockle is a free daily game where you select the stock you think will have the biggest performance that day. You choose a stock from the NASDAQ or NYSE and pick whether it goes up or down versus the prior close. Your choice is ranked among other players after the market closes.

When can I make a prediction?
Before 9:30 AM ET on a trading day, you lock a pick for that same day. After the open (or on weekends), you can lock one pick for the next trading day — for example, Friday after the open you can pick for Monday. Once submitted, that day’s pick cannot be changed.

How is this game scored?
We store the previous close when you lock your pick, then compare it to that day’s close after 4:00 PM ET. Your score is the percent move, positive if you got the direction right and negative if you did not.

Is there any live trading on Stockle?
No. Quotes come from market data for scoring only. No real trading occurs.

Can other users view my choices?
Yes, unless you turn on Anonymous in Settings. Anonymous players still earn ranks, but their name and history stay private.

Why do I need to create a profile?
Creating a profile lets you track your choices on this device. Without it, you cannot lock predictions or see your personal results.
